Barbara Heiss Barfield

Barbara Heiss Barfield was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, by her maternal grandparents who immigrated from Greece in the early 20th century. She graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1973 and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri, St. Louis in 1977 with the Bachelors degree in Music Education. After teaching music for two years, she worked in the financial services industry in St. Louis, for various companies including Commerce Banks, Citicorp Mortgage Inc., and Hyundai Finance Company. Ms. Barfield will complete the requirements for the Masters of Divinity and Masters in Theology degrees at Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis in May, 2002. Presently, she serves as the Lay Assistant at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Her responsibilities include religious education and programming within the Orthodox community and various Youth Ministries.
